tldr; Everything went wrong but it werk in the end
I had used windows for a very long time and people had always even installed it for me so for a long time I didn't even know how to install windows. It just functioned.
One day I had to get a new computer as my old one actually broke. It was installed with linux (with a desktop environment) and that was the start of my linux journey. Yes someone installed it already and I didn't even know how it got installed, just like with windows.
After that I tried several distros, some of which didn't even boot properly. I've tried Debian, Ubuntu, Linux Mint, that sort of thing, then I got influenced by my peers and I also decided to go straight to difficult mode and try things that were a little different, such as Nix os. Yes peer pressure really is a thing I suppose.
After that I got started with trying out window managers and ricing, which was fun.
After that it was trying to make some dotfiles and publishing them. Although I wouldn't say one set of dotfiles defines me and what I prefer as I think all the distros and desktop environments and window managers and such are nice in their own way.
And so the journey continues...
